Roadmap

What is done, in progress and planned

Engineering and note taking follow written plans in the company handbook, built one complete phase at a time. A phase is done when its products and libraries are implemented, tested and documented.

Status on 15 October 2026. This page changes when the plans change.

Engineering

Structural Suite

  1. Steel member design

    Done

eurocode-calcs checks steel members to EN 1993-1-1 and EN 1993-1-5.

  2. Frame analysis

    In progress

frame-analysis analyses 3D frames with links, gaps and seismic isolators, including response spectra and storey checks to EN 1998-1, isolated bridges and buildings, large displacements and rotations, plastic members up to collapse, and pushover analysis, and checks their steel members by all three stability methods and after a plastic global analysis. Its desktop program, the first of the suite, edits the model in a Model tree and a Properties panel; tables, loads and the 3D view follow.

  3. Cross-section analysis

    In progress

section-analysis computes the properties, torsion and warping, plastic capacity and stresses of any section through its command line and C API, with section files, sessions and the plan views of its desktop program. Its desktop program follows.

  4. Concrete and loads

    In progress

load-generation transfers area loads to their supports, lays snow and wind on buildings, and places road and rail traffic, footbridge loads and temperatures on bridges. The eurocode library covers EN 1991 actions with road, rail, footbridge and accidental loads on bridges, the EN 1990 combinations of buildings and bridges, EN 1997 earth pressures, and EN 1992 bending, shear, torsion, prestressing, punching, slender columns by every method, and serviceability. Earth pressures in load-generation, and concrete design in the products, follow.

  5. Timber and connections

    In progress

Timber is complete in the eurocode library: EN 1995-1-1, fire and bridges. EN 1993-1-8 has bolts, welds, bolted connections, the simple joints of SCI P358, joint classification, the component method, moment joints with haunches, stiffeners and axial force, bolted and welded splices, and column base plates on anchor bolts or headed anchors with EN 1992-4, the stiffness and rotation capacity of joints, and hollow-section joints on every kind of chord, and the connections of steel bridges; the steel-connections product follows.

  6. Surfaces and solids

    In progress

fem meshes planar surfaces into flat three-node shells for plates, walls and slabs, joins them to each other and to members, and gives their results in statics, buckling, second order, first-order nonlinear paths and the dynamic analyses. More shell elements, solids and the structural-analysis product follow.

  7. Physical model and drafting

    In progress

project-model holds grids, levels, members, walls, slabs, openings, and bridges along IFC 4.3 alignments with piers, abutments, bearings, isolators and expansion joints, all driven by parameters. Drawings and the drafting product follow.

  8. BIM and detailing

    In progress

The detailing library has steel parts, numbering, bolts, welds, shop assemblies, and components for fin plates, end plates, web cleats, moment end plates with haunches and stiffeners, and column bases, and project-model takes each joint's behaviour into the analysis model. The other joints and NC output follow, then the modelling product with drawings and schedules.

  9. Free-form geometry

    Planned

NURBS curves and surfaces, and visual programming over geometry and data.

  10. Timber-frame buildings

    Planned

Automatic framing of walls, floors and roofs, prefabricated elements and manufacturing output.

  11. Prestressing and bridges

    Planned

Tendons with their losses and elongations, construction stages with precamber, force and shape optimisation and incremental launching, composite bridges, and the dynamic analysis of trains crossing bridges.

  12. Special analyses

    Planned

Footfall, multiple-support excitation, artificial accelerograms, silo, tank and wave loads, membrane cutting patterns, reliability analysis and fire temperature fields.

  13. Precast

    Planned

Pretensioned precast elements designed to EN 1992, with production and erection planning and machine exports, in the precast-design product, and their tracking in a client of its own.

  14. Codes and sustainability

    Planned

More national annexes, life cycle assessment by EN 15804, and design codes beyond the Eurocodes, family by family as users need them.

  15. Energy and networks

    Planned

Hourly energy simulation of buildings in building-energy, and water and district heating networks in pipe-networks.

  16. Special structures

    Planned

Glass, towers and masts, piping, crane runways and steel shells.

  17. Exchange and collaboration

    Planned

The exchange formats of other analysis programs, point clouds, and model sharing through a common data environment.

  18. Concrete details

    Planned

Discontinuity regions of concrete by compatible stress fields, first in 2D and then in 3D with anchors in reinforced blocks, in the concrete-details product.

  19. Concept modelling

    Planned

Push-pull modelling of planar polygons and page layouts of the model, in the concept-modeler product.

Engineering

Model exchange

  1. STEP and IFC text files

    Done

step and ifc: queries and structural analysis models in IFC2x3, IFC4 and IFC 4.3.

  2. IFC-ZIP and IFC-XML

    Done

    archive and xml.

  3. Meshes and IFC geometry

    Done

STL, OBJ and 3MF in mesh. IFC extrusions, breps, Booleans, every profile, CSG primitives, sweeps, surfaces, advanced breps and IFC 4.3 alignments.

  4. Complete IFC

    In progress

Any representation of a product, openings and other features cut from every kind of geometry, annotations, styles, layers, grid placements and georeferencing are read today, the geometry is compared with IfcConvert, every Boolean is computed exactly, queries read materials, references, connections, alignments, schedules, resources, costs and every typed value and quantity, structural analysis models are read whole in IFC2x3 to IFC 4.3, and models are edited, upgraded from IFC2x3 to IFC4 and IFC 4.3, and checked against the rules of their schema and against IDS documents. model-convert describes, checks and converts models from the command line and the C API. The rest of writing follows, for an ifc that is ready for production.

  5. Spreadsheets, CSV and PDF

    In progress

csv reads and writes CSV tables in any dialect and encoding, spreadsheet streams or edits XLSX workbooks over opc, with formulas that follow inserted and deleted rows and columns, pdf writes tagged PDF/A and PDF/UA files from graphics scenes, typeset hyphenates, breaks paragraphs and lays out formulas, and report writes a laid-out report as tagged PDF and as HTML, with the working of EN 1993's classification, effective sections and plastic hinges. The rest of XLSX and the descriptions of the other checks follow.
